Who we are

Rice Purity Test Center is a small website with one job: to offer a clean, easy-to-use version of the Rice Purity Test. The test began as an informal survey among students at Rice University and has since become a well-known online quiz. We built this site so anyone can take it without clutter, pop-ups, or sign-up forms getting in the way.

We focus on doing one thing well. There are no other quizzes or tools here, just the Rice Purity Test and clear information about what it is and what it isn’t.

Our purpose

This site exists to give you a straightforward, interactive way to take the Rice Purity Test. People come here for different reasons, and all of them are welcome:

  • Curiosity: you’ve heard of the test and want to see your own score.
  • Personal reflection: you’d like a light prompt to think about your experiences so far.
  • Entertainment: you’re taking it for fun, perhaps alongside friends.

Whatever brings you here, our aim is the same: a test that is quick to take, easy to understand, and respectful of your privacy.

How our tool works

  1. 100 questions, one at a time

Each question asks whether you have had a particular life experience. Questions appear one per screen so the test never feels overwhelming.

  2. Choose your answer

Select “Yes, I have” or “No, I haven’t.” You can move back and forth, jump to any question, and change an answer at any point before you finish.

  3. Your score is calculated

Everyone starts at 100, and each “yes” lowers the score by one point. The calculation is fixed, so the same answers always give the same score.

  4. See your result

You’ll see your Rice Purity Score out of 100, the score range it falls in, and a breakdown across the test’s seven categories.

Our privacy approach

Some of the questions are personal, so we designed the tool to ask for as little as possible. You don’t need to create an account, and the test never asks for your name, email address, or any other personal details. We don’t believe a quiz like this should require them.

Your answers are processed in your browser and are not sent to our server. They are kept temporarily in your browser tab so a page refresh doesn’t erase your progress, and they are cleared when you close the tab or reset the test. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.

Accuracy and limitations

The Rice Purity Test is a self-reported checklist, not a scientific or psychological assessment. It has not been validated by researchers, and your score is simply a count of how many of the listed experiences you’ve had.

Your score does not measure

  • Your character or values
  • Your morality or worth as a person
  • Your mental health or wellbeing
  • Your personality or maturity

Two people with the same score can have very different lives, and a score says nothing about the choices, circumstances, or context behind an answer. For that reason, the result shouldn’t be used to judge yourself or anyone else. See our Disclaimer for more.

Using the test responsibly

We encourage you to treat your result as a bit of fun or a starting point for reflection, not as a serious measurement. A few simple guidelines help keep it that way:

  • Answer honestly for yourself, and only share your score if you want to.
  • Never pressure anyone to take the test or reveal their result.
  • Don’t use scores to compare, rank, or label people.
  • Remember that some questions cover adult topics, and the test is intended for adults.
  • The questions describe experiences; they are not suggestions to try anything.
